Week 1 - so much fun!

Well 7 Green, you never disappoint.  You have definitely hit the ground running.  We have picked our student councillors for the term and we are super excited about being on Assembly set up this term.

Dance Fever has just left the building today - and I must say, it has been a pleasure to watch you all enjoy a bit of music and dance with your peers.  Check out our Tweets from today.

Blake, Tamika and Melony are out representing our school today at various sporting activities.  We are eager to hear of your results tomorrow in class.

Maths:  Today we covered more area with squares and rectangles.  Remember to use your fold out pages to help you remember what the rules are and the expected setting out of the formulas.
Remember - if you don't study what you have learnt in class - then it will be harder for you to obtain good results in your exam (which will be held in Week 7 of this term).  We have so much to cover and refreshing your memory nightly on what you learnt that day is a fantastic way to enhance your chances of achieving good/great/excellent results.

Literacy:  This term you will be looking at persuasive writing.  Yesterday you were all given your topics and what stance you will have (for or against).  I have suggested that you GOOGLE some information on good arguments or ideas that will help you write an amazing persuasive essay.

Poetry:  Tankas.  Today you delved into the world of Poetry again.  This time we are looking at the Tanka.  Tonight you will write one.  Remember to think of all the wonderful ways to describe your subject and that you only have 31 syllables in which to make it great.

Waves crashing ashore
An endless blanket of blue
Tides changing often
Just underneath the surface
Vibrant coloured reefs and fish

Library is tomorrow, so get ready to get into a good book.

See you then!!!

Ms C and Mrs C :)
